14-18 Sept 2025
As part of our commitment to strengthening mental health services at the community level, Resilience Integration and Sustainable Empowerment (RISE) participated in the Mental Health Gap Program (mhGAP) training aimed at equipping Primary Health Care (PHC) staff with essential knowledge and skills to identify, manage, and refer individuals with mental health conditions.
The mhGAP initiative, led in collaboration with health authorities and partners, is designed to close the treatment gap by integrating mental health into primary care. During the training, health workers received practical tools to recognize signs of depression, anxiety, epilepsy, substance abuse, and other priority conditions, and were guided on how to deliver culturally appropriate psychosocial support.
This training aligns with RISE’s mission to promote inclusive, accessible, and stigma-free mental health care in underserved and vulnerable communities.
We commend all participants and partners for their dedication to mental health advocacy and service delivery.
