Resilience Integration and Sustainable Empowerment (RISE) was pleased to participate in a four-day workshop on Climate Change and Disability Inclusion in Somalia, organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The workshop convened key stakeholders, including civil society, government institutions, and organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs), to discuss inclusive climate strategies and resilience efforts. The sessions focused on integrating the rights and needs of persons with disabilities into national climate policies, disaster risk reduction, and sustainable development frameworks.
RISE emphasized the importance of inclusive approaches in addressing the intersectional vulnerabilities caused by climate change, particularly among marginalized and at-risk populations. As a committed advocate for equity and resilience, RISE supports policies and programs that ensure no one is left behind.
This engagement aligns with RISE’s broader mission to strengthen inclusive community resilience and promote the active participation of persons with disabilities in decision-making processes related to climate adaptation and development.
