The CSOs Task Force for the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), under the leadership of the Child Rights Coalition, successfully held its first consultation workshop focused on child rights in Somalia. The event took place at Horyaal Hotel, Baidoa, from 20th to 21st September 2025.

This high-level consultation brought together senior leaders from various civil society organizations, including RISE, to collaboratively review national progress on child rights, identify gaps, and develop joint recommendations for Somalia’s upcoming UPR submission.

The workshop marked an important step toward strengthening collaboration and ensuring that the voices of children and child-focused CSOs are well-represented in the broader human rights agenda.
