RISE recently joined the Southwest State Humanitarian Coordination Group’s joint field mission to Buurhakaba, where prolonged drought has intensified humanitarian needs.

The multi-agency team conducted field assessments across IDP settlements and local markets, identifying critical challenges including:

• Severe water shortages
• Escalating levels of hunger and food insecurity
• Increased protection risks for vulnerable populations

These findings underscore the urgent need for sustained, coordinated, and community-led humanitarian interventions.

RISE remains deeply committed to working alongside local authorities, partners, and affected communities to deliver life-saving assistance and strengthen resilience in the face of ongoing crises.
