On 5 January 2026, RISE provided life-saving water distribution to families affected by prolonged drought and living in internally displaced persons (IDP) settlements in Baidoa.

The ongoing drought has severely limited access to safe and clean water, increasing health risks and compounding the vulnerabilities of displaced communities. In response, RISE implemented this emergency water distribution to help meet immediate needs, protect public health, and uphold dignity among affected households.

Through timely WASH interventions, RISE continues to support vulnerable populations while working alongside communities and partners to strengthen resilience in the face of climate-related shocks.
