On 10th August 2025, the RISE team conducted a monitoring visit to RISE-supported Women Safe Spaces in Gabaa Degsoy IDP, Holwadag Village, and Janay 3 Horsed Village on the outskirts of Baidoa.
The visit aimed to ensure the continued provision of essential support services for women and girls, especially child mothers and survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV). During the visit, the team observed key ongoing activities including:
✅ Provision of psychosocial support (PSS)
✅ Breastfeeding and maternal health sessions
✅ Awareness-raising on the prevention of violence and available referral pathways for urgent assistance
These safe spaces remain vital for promoting dignity, healing, and empowerment for vulnerable women and girls. RISE remains committed to strengthening community-based protection and support systems.
