Resilience Integration and Sustainable Empowerment (RISE) proudly participated in the four-day Women Leadership Training organized by the Somali NGO Consortium (SNC) in Baidoa. The training brought together Women-Led Organizations (WLOs) from across Southwest State to strengthen leadership, protection, and advocacy capacities within Somalia’s humanitarian and development sectors.
Purpose and Focus:
The training aimed to empower women leaders with knowledge and tools to enhance their role in protection, gender equality, localization, and inclusive decision-making. It also served as a collaborative space for sharing best practices and developing strategies for more effective representation of women and girls in programming.
Key Objectives Included:
- Strengthening leadership and management capacity among WLOs
- Documenting inclusive targeting strategies for vulnerable women and girls
- Supporting the localization agenda through women-led advocacy
- Developing peer-support mechanisms and action plans
- Aligning advocacy approaches to increase donor engagement with WLOs RISE’s Commitment:
As a participant, RISE actively contributed to discussions and reaffirmed its commitment to gender equity, women’s empowerment, and inclusive leadership.
