On 10th–11th February 2026, RISE conducted a two-day training for humanitarian actors on the application of a Human Rights-Based Approach (HRBA) to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) protection in Hudur, South West State of Somalia.
The training brought together frontline humanitarian partners working with displacement-affected communities to enhance their understanding and practical application of HRBA principles in protection programming. Participants strengthened their knowledge of human rights standards, accountability frameworks, participation, non-discrimination, and inclusion in humanitarian response.
Through interactive discussions and practical case studies, the sessions focused on:
- Integrating human rights principles into project planning and implementation
- Promoting meaningful participation of IDPs in decision-making
- Enhancing accountability to affected populations
- Ensuring protection of the most vulnerable and marginalized groups
This capacity-building initiative reinforces RISE’s commitment to advancing rights-based, inclusive, and dignified protection services for IDPs across South West State.
